Thursday 7th November
Today we went swimming in the morning. Then we had a light lunch.
Afterwards we saw the Aladdin Pantomime and then we all got ready for
the New Year's Eve party night. The evening meal was made special as the
table was laid out with decorations and we all had a party hat to wear
for the New Year event. Once we had eaten we joined the entertainment.
We listened to the music and joined along with the dancing, there was a
huge net full of balloons suspended above the stage ready to be
released. A great evening was had by all. |
Friday 8th November
We drove to visit Perry's Cider Farm. Once there we went around the
museum and saw the old farm machinery. We also saw the huge mound of
apples used for the cider. We ate a nice lunch at the cafe. There was a
chance to buy gifts and souvenirs from the shop and we were also offered
a taste of some of the ciders and apple juice they make at the farm. We
then went for a drive in the autumn sunshine and once back at the hotel
we joined the archery activity which was fun. In the evening the
entertainment was fantastic with a Michael Buble tribute singer and
another chance for us to join the disco and dance. |

Saturday 9th November
Today we took part in a quiz, played games and got to play a game of
curling. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot while we were playing
curling. Afterwards we went for a stroll around the hotel grounds. In
the impressive grounds we saw Statues, unusual sculptures, waterfalls,
sheep and swans. We sat in the amazing foyer of the manor house where
the BBC TV series "To The Manor Born" was filmed. After a bit of a rest
we changed ready for dinner. The entertainment was a big highlight
tonight. It was a Freddie Mercury from Queen tribute band and we joined
in with the dancing. |
Sunday 10th November
Daniel took Andrew and Ray to the 10am church service today. While the
rest of the group joined the 'air rifle' activity at the hotel. Later we
all played musical bingo before having lunch in the grand manor house.
In the afternoon we played games and joined in a quiz. Before the
evening meal we began to pack our things ready for tomorrow. Tonight was
an ABBA tribute band, again very good. The hotel had been decorated for
christmas all holiday with a lovely tree with sparkling lights. |
