Saturday 22nd July

Today we all travelled from different areas to meet up at Bridgewater. Unfortunately, we were a bit delayed on the motorway. However, apart from the rain it wasn't a bad day to travel.
Hotel
Burnham on Sea Sunday 23rd July

After all the travelling, yesterday, everyone decided to have an easy day today. Some of us attended church in the morning. The rest of the group went for a walk around the town and then a coffee. We had lunch in a small cafe by the river Parrott. Later we enjoyed a walk along the sea front at Burnham on Sea. Burnham is  a small seaside resort in Somerset. Later we went out for dinner to a carvery in a lovely pub and enjoyed looking at the boats on the canal.
Monday 24th July

Today we went to the West Somerset Railway at Bishops Lydiard. Some of us had a good look around the station and saw the Model Railway and Museum. We caught the steam train and travelled to Minehead, where we had a few minutes to have a coffee before boarding the train for the return journey.
Steam Train
Dartmouth Tuesday 25th July

We visited the Dartmouth Steam Railway at Paignton today. When reached the end of the railway journey we then went onto the ferry going across the river Dart to visit Dartmouth. At Dartmouth we ate our sandwiches in the park and watched the boats on this busy river before returning to the train for the return trip to Paignton.
Wednesday 26th July

We had a little bit of a late start today. We made our way to Buckfastleigh which is one of the stations on the South Devon Railway. Unfortunately the train was unable to go into Totnes due to technical failure but we did manage to travel most of the way.. We had a picnic lunch on the train and made full use of the buffet carriage. It was a wet day but we still explored the Buckfastleigh Station buying souvenirs in the shop. We also visited the model railway and the museum then had a drink of Tea in the Tea Shop. We ate in the evening at The Brewers Fayer.

Seaton  Thursday 27th July

Today we went to the electric train at Seaton near Axemouth. Some of us rode on the open top part of the bus, while others preferred to be on the lower part of the bus. We had lunch in the cafe at the end of the line (sheltering from the rain in the cafe). We then went to Pecorama, near Lyme Bay. Here we saw several model railways and rode on a miniture steam railway.Later, we ate our evening meal in the hotel.
Friday 28th July

We caught the mainline train to Weston super Mare where we enjoyed fish and chips for lunch. Then a bit of retail therapy around the shops and playing games on the pier. We also saw the donkeys on the beach and had a short chat with them ! We took the train back to Bridgewater before our meal in The Toby Carvery.
