Friday 1st July
We arrived at our lovely hotel after a slight delay in traffic. We found our rooms and unpacked before dinner. We had a divine 3-course meal then went to the starlight lounge for the evening entertainment; disco and cabaret singer! We had a fabulous evening but were very tired.
This morning we woke up ready to start the first day of our holiday. After breakfast we finished settling into our rooms before heading out to explore the hotel. We found the shop and bought some postcards and various other souvenirs. We had a look at the pool and spa complex which looked amazing. We then went down into the games room. We played pool, table tennis, air hockey, basketball and had a go on the arcade games. After lunch we went to the starlight lounge for a beginners line-dancing lesson which was great fun. After line dancing we joined in the quiz but didn’t do very well! After tea and biscuits we all headed back to our rooms to get ready for dinner and the evening entertainment.
This morning we made some clay animals, ready to paint later in the week. Afterwards we went to living coasts, we saw lots of different animals; penguins, otters, octopus, sea horses, sea lions and many other animals too. We also watched the penguins being fed. We headed back to the hotel to get ready for the evening entertainment. After dinner we headed to the starlight lounge for dancing. Sarah, Tracy and Karen spent most of the night on the dance floor joined at various points in the evening by the rest of us. We had a look round the gift shop where we got various presents and gifts.
Today some of us chose to go swimming in the fabulous pool. We also had a visit to the lovely steam room before writing our postcards. We visited the games room and played a few games before lunch. Afterwards we had a bowling competition, the score was so close, just 1 point in it with Tom’s team coming first. Afterwards we had dinner and tried our new line dancing skills at the disco.
Today we went to the zoo, we saw lots of different animals, Tracy liked the monkeys best. Barry enjoyed the Tigers best. We had a our picnic lunch at the Zoo as it was a warm sunny day. It was very hot in the tropical enclosure where we saw the aligators and various burds. You could press buttons to hear the tropical noises and try and identify the animals. We all enjoyed looking round the gift shop purchasing some gifts and douviners. That evening after dinner we enjoyed dancing at the disco.
This morning we painted the clay models we had made earlier in the week as they were now dry. Then we caught the land train down to the sea front where we had lunch out and looked round some shops before relaxing on the beach. Jo and Kirstine paddled in the sea. Debbie and Tracy had some treatments in the spa and joined us later. We then caught the land train back to out hotel in time for tea and biscuits in the starlight lounge. In the evening we danced to a live singer then watched a dance show from the entire musical it was brilliant.
We all had a fabulous holiday and can’t wait to come back next year
