Monday 4th December
Once everyone had arrived and unpacked we sat down for a cup of tea and
mince pies, followed later by a buffet meal. We are staying at The Barn,
in the Cotswolds near to Cirencester. Glynis and Pauline said they
really enjoyed their mince pies. |

Tuesday 5th December
After breakfast we went to the nearby market town of Cirencester. This
was where we bought our 'secret Santa' gifts. Then on to a large garden
centre for our lunch in their cafe. They had a life like moving
Christmas display of a polo bear band. We then went back to our
accommodation and listened to Christmas carols, as we are treating today
as Christmas eve! We decorated a chocolate log, ate our meal and then
had fun singing Christmas songs on the karaoke. |
Wednesday 6th December
We are treating today as Christmas day on our holiday! We woke to find
Santa had put stockings, with fruit and chocolate, on our door handles.
We visited the town of Fairford and saw Santa's reindeer. Then we had a
lovely Christmas dinner, followed by a visitor! It was Santa, he came
with a present and our 'secret santa' gifts. We watched Christmas movies
and played games. |

Thursday 7th December
We treated today as Boxing day. After breakfast we packed our bags ready
for tomorrow. Then we had lunch and went to the town of Swindon to see
the Theatre play of Peter Pan. Sarah laughed all the way through, Ken
danced to the music. Later, we went to The Raven pub in the village of
Kemble for our evening meal. We all took turns to play skittles. |
Friday 8th December
We all had breakfast before going home. Sarah said it was a brilliant
whirlwind. Glynis said the Peter Pan pantomime was brilliant with Peter
Pan flying through the air. Pauline loved the Christmas dinner and
Beverley enjoyed seeing the actor who plays Ian Beale in Eastenders (he
was in the panto). |
