along with Geraint , Jane and Peter.
An early start of 4:00 am in order to get to Gatwick Airport for our morning flight. Once we had arrived in Spain and transferred to our hotel we got to our rooms and unpacked. We then had lunch by the pool, it is very hot. Later we had an evening meal in the restaurant which offered a wide range of choices. We then watched the Lion King Show before all going to bed.
After breakfast we went for a walk to the sea front, it was a beautiful sunny morning. We stopped for a coffee on the way. We had lunch while we were there and then went back to the hotel. Some of us went to the pool for the afternoon. The temperatures were 29° C today !
Another hot day and we stayed by the hotel swimming pools on both sides of our hotel. One group was in the large pool, swimming for most of the afternoon. After dinner a few walked along the sea front. The entertainment was a rock and pop duo. There was dancing and music in the open air, in the hotel grounds.
After breakfast we went down to the sea front. We had a drink in a cafe and then got our loungers and umbrellas for the day, Andrew ventured into the sea. In the afternoon a few more took to the water and some wanted to do a spot of shopping. The evening entertainment was a very good violinist followed by a Motown singer.
Today we visited the market nearby our hotel, there was a chance to buy various items along with souvenirs. We checked out the cost and times for the land train. Some of the group wanted to swim in the pool. In the evening the entertainment was the theme of "Mamma Mia" which we all enjoyed. It was also Michael's birthday and we all sang happy birthday while he blew out the candles on his cake !
As it is hot today at 31° C, some of us decided to have a pool day. Some swam in the large pool and joined in the Agua Gym. Others went to the market and had their feet nibbled by fish, the latest craze ! We had lunch at a snack bar and later in the evening we had more entertainment as we sat outside for the shows, in the warm evening air.

We have a car hire for 4 days so we divided into 2 groups for trips out. Some went with Geraint and Jane to visit Denia, the port city on the coast of Eastern Spain. Peter took a group of 4 on the tourist land train and then walked around Benidorm. In the evening we had a Rod Stewart tribute singer in the bar.
Today Peter took his group to Castell de Guadalest, a historical castle in the mountainous area within the province of Alicante. It was very interesting although there were a lot of steps to the castle. There was a rain storm as they left. The other group went on the tourist land train today and visited the town centre of Benidorm, a chance to have a look around and to stop at a cafe. It was quite a dull and cooler day today.
Today one group walked into town with the other group going by car and meeting up together for coffee/ drinks followed by a walk around. We found a good place for lunch then continued strolling around taking in all the sights and sounds. The first group took a bus back to the hotel and some went swimming in the pool once they were back at the hotel.
Today we made use of our hired vehicle and some of the group visited Dinia, via the motorway due to our sat nav!. This was a chance for the other group to explore the City Port of Denia on the coast of Eastern Spain. It was a hot day so the other group decided to stay around the hotel pool. In the evening we had great entertainment again this time in the form of rock'n'roll music.
A lovely hot sunny day today. Some decided to shop locally with the others staying by the pool. We had lunch by the snack bar by the large pool. Some of the group stayed on that side of the hotel for swimming and relaxing by the pool. The evening entertainment was a violinist followed by an 'Ed Sheran' tribute act.
Today we took a trip to Mundomar Animal Park, where we saw a dolphin and a sea lion show. We also looked around the park and saw the other animals and birds.
We spent this morning shopping locally for our gifts and souvenirs. We had our lunch at the snack bar by the pool. There was swimming in the afternoon, in the hotel pool. In the evening we watched a magic show.
Our last full day before going home. So, we packed our cases as much as we could and then decided to relax by the pool for the day. Some of the group decided to do some colouring in. The only person who wanted to take a walk into town was Peter and he was accompanied by our holiday supporter Peter. We had our evening meal and weighed our cases ready for the flight and took an early night.
Time to say our goodbyes to Benidorm and head for the Airport and Home.
