We met for breakfast at 9am and after an hour we headed out for our first trip. We visited 'The world of James Herriot' in Thirsk, it has won a White Rose Tourism award. Everyone said they enjoyed it. We had sandwiches for lunch then drove to Rievaulx Abbey, on the way we met a farmer with a quadbike, sheepdog and many sheep. The Abbey is a former Cistercian Monastry. We enjoyed walking around the Abbey and we rested in the cafe for a drink and a cake. (yum) Later in the evening we had our meal in a pub close to the hotel.
