Monday 16th July

After our day of travelling yesterday to get to the holiday, we woke and got ready for our day exploring Skegness. We visited the pier and admired the windmills just off the coast. We stopped for lunch in the park. Then some of us went on the log flume and got wet! Afterwards we had an ice cream and did a bit of shopping before returning back to our hotel. In the evening we enjoyed our meal at the hotel and the entertainment that followed

Today we visited the Natureland Seal Sanctuary where we saw the seals along with other animals such as meerkats and lamas. We had lunch in a comunity cafe before going to play crazy golf. After dinner we listened to the evening entertainment which was a comedian/ singer.
Wednesday 18th July

We set off for Mablethorpe today. Unfortunately we had to return as someone wasn't very well. However, we did go on the 'self drive boats' in Skegness and had a look at the seafront where we had lunch. We then had a wander around the shops and the stalls on the seafront. We also went onto the pier where some of us played on the machines for a while.

Today we went into Skegness, some wanted to go on the boats again. Others went on the horse drawn carriage. We decided to do a bit more shopping and also sat down for some yummy ice creams!
Friday 20th July

We visited The Aquarium today where we also had our lunch. We were interested to see a diver in the tank with the fish. There were large tanks and smaller tanks and we saw all sorts of fish including star fish. Later we had another ice cream, we are on holiday after all! In the evening we went out for a 'fish and chip' supper and then went to The Circus. We laughed at the silly clowns and enjoyed the skills of the entertainers in the Circus.

feeding the animals Saturday 21st July

Today we went to Hardy Farm. At the farm we had the chance to feed the goats and pigs, take a tractor ride, count the hens eggs and get up close to the baby goats. We had lunch at Hardy Farm. On our return to the hotel we went for another game of golf, where most of us managed to get a 'hole in one'. The staff on the holiday were useless!
Sunday 22nd July

It was the end of week 1 and the start of week 2. Some were travelling home while Alfie, Anita, Claire, Anthony and Michael joined us today. It was a very warm day today and we have been very  lucky with the weather on this holiday. We enjoyed a visit to the beach in the afternoon.

milking the cow Monday 23rd July

We went back to Hardy Farm today, we had all enjoyed our visit so much on Saturday. We saw the animals again and fed some of them. Some of the animals we saw were Lamas, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks and baby goats. We had the chance to 'milk a cow' on the model of a cow and ride on the farm tractor. We had lunch at The Farm and then went for a walk around Skegness. In the evening we enjoyed the entertainment at the hotel which was a singer this time.
Tuesday 24th July

It was really hot today. We visited The Seal Rescue Centre and learned the difference between a seal and a sea-lion. As it was so hot we decided to have a bit of a 'siesta' before going out again to ride the big wheel in Skegness, we could see right across the beach from the wheel. Later we enjoyed karaoke in the bar.

sun umbrellas on the beach Wednesday 25th July

Today was a beach day. It was one of the hottest days of the year so far! We had beach chairs and we bought some sun umbrellas to give us some shade and to feel comfortable in the hot weather. We also drank lots to keep hydrated. We had a fish and chip lunch on the beach. In the evening we enjoyed the entertainment at the hotel, a chance for us to dance to the music.
Thursday 26th July

This morning we went to The Model Village, which was interesting and the names on the shops were fun, there was so much detail in the little model houses. Then we had a drink and a trip on a river boat. After lunch we went to the Pleasure Beach where some of us had a go on some of the rides and machines there. Another lovely warm day. In the evening we went for our meal followed by the entertainment, this time a singer.

Pleasure Beach Friday 27th July

We played a session of Ten Pin Bowling this morning, followed by some of us going on the rides at the Pleasure Beach, along with the indoor games and machines such as riding a motorbike machine. We returned to the hotel to avoid the thunderstorms. In the evening we went for a walk and retreated back to the hotel due to the rain and enjoyed the entertainer instead.
Saturday 28th July

Today we visited Tattenhall Castle. There was a display involving people dressed in medieval costume and enacting a battle of the period. We watched them as they used bow and arrows along with a display of medieval firearms and cannon which were very noisey. Some of us also went up onto the castle battlements which were very high and gave us a fantastic view of the area. We finished the holiday with a karaoke session in the hotel bar.
