We arrived at the airport early on Thursday morning. Once we had checked in and gone through security it was time to get on the aeroplane. We arrived in Malta to beautiful blue skies. We made our way to the accommodation and found our rooms and unpacked. We then headed down to dinner and then watched the entertainment. It was a guitar player and singer. After a long day we all headed to bed.
Today we had a day at the hotel. It was a really nice day and everyone wanted a relaxing time by the pool. After lunch John, Alan, David and Chrissie went to the shops close to the sea for a look around. Later some went in the jacuzzi or for a swim. In the evening after dinner the entertainment was a singer and some of the group enjoyed a little dance.
After breakfast we went to The Aquarium. As it was a nice day and it was not very far we walked here. It was a lovely walk in the sun along the coast. We saw lots of fish along with some sharks, eels, jellyfish and sting rays. Afterwards we had a pizza or burger for lunch and then walked back along the coast to the hotel. After dinner the entertainment was a band where we enjoyed listening to the music and it was a chance for those who wanted to to enjoy a dance.
Unfortunately, this morning the weather was not very good, there was lots of rain. In view of the weather we postponed our planned trip and relaxed at the hotel and had lunch and waited for the weather to change. Some enjoyed a game of pool. After lunch some of the group went for a stroll along the coast stopping for ice cream. The rest of the group made the most of the afternoon sun and relaxed around the pool. Some enjoyed a drink at the pool bar and then a dip in the jacuzzi.
Today was a very hot day. We decided to stay at the hotel with some sunbathing and others swimming in the outdoor pool. We had lunch in the sun and then some went for a walk along the coast enjoying an ice cream by the sea. Later the entertainment was a keyboard player and singer and more dancing.
We went for a tour of the Island in an open top bus. We stopped at Sliema, a resort town and did a bit of shopping then had a drink in a cafe. We then had our lunch at Sliema harbour and then returned to the bus for the rest of our tour. We travelled through the famous San Anton Garden with it's beautiful mature garden. Then on to Valletta and Mdina an ancient walled city and the old capital of Malta which had lovely old buildings and churches. In the evening we had our usual entertainment which this evening was a country singer. John enjoyed singing along to a Johnny Cash song.
Today was our last full day so after breakfast we had a final relax by the pool and a swim for those who wanted to. After lunch we did some final souvenir shopping and a game of mini golf. After our evening meal we had a drink at the bar before going for an early night ready for our early start tomorrow.
After a 3am start we took our suitcases to the minibus said good bye to the hotel and travelled to the Airport back to Heathrow.
