Tuesday 6th September We enjoyed a tasty breakfast in the hotel before setting off on our trip to the botanical gardens. Here we went on a tour of historical Jersey farming equipment. We ate a delicious lunch surrounded by the herb gardens. We then paid a visit to the lavender gardens and spent the afternoon here, enjoying an afternoon tea. In the evening we headed down to the sea front for a traditional fare of fish and chips and had a drink in a beach bar. |

Wednesday 7th September After enjoying a large breakfast in the hotel we went to the beach. We enjoyed a paddle in the sea and relaxed on the deck chairs. We had a break for lunch at a beach café and then back to the beach for an hour before heading back to the hotel. Once at the hotel some of us had a dip in the pool and some of us took to the sun beds. In the evening we went out for a lovely meal at Pizza Express and then back to the hotel for a drink. |

Thursday 8th September Today was Air Show day! We filled up on breakfast then headed out early to secure a good place for the show. We got refreshments from a café then explored the stalls whilst waiting for the show to begin. We managed to find some great seats, ate some lunch and watched the air show all afternoon. The Red Arrows were amazing! We headed back to the hotel to refresh before going out for an excellent meal at a local restaurant. |

Friday 9th September It was decided today would be a great day to visit Durrell Wildlife Park. This turned out to be a wonderful day out. We listened to a talk about bears which was very interesting and informative. There were also talks about gorillas, orangutans, tortoises and bats again all were extremely interesting and full of facts. We ate lunch at the Park and enjoyed tea and cake before leaving. |
|
Saturday 10th September It was our first rainy day so, we needed to take cover! After eating breakfast, we made our way to the Jersey War Tunnels. We walked through the underground tunnels whilst watching videos giving people’s accounts of the horrors they experienced. This was interesting and although the accounts were sad we all enjoyed the history lesson. We took lunch here and went over to the War Museum in the afternoon. In the evening we found a lovely restaurant, had dinner then a few drinks back at the hotel. |
|
Sunday 11th September A lovely sunny day today! We had our usual breakfast at the hotel then drove to St Helier and then split into 2 groups. One group took the boat to Elizabeth Castle. The other group went shopping and visited the Maritime Museum. Both groups had a great day out. We then all met up and headed back to the hotel. Once refreshed we went out to the Old Smugglers Inn where we ate a tasty evening meal. |

Monday 12th September We decided we would go for a drive today around the whole coast of the Island. Before going for our drive we had a hearty breakfast at the hotel. As we drove we admired the beautiful scenery and took a stop at a beach side café for refreshments. Later we headed to the wine estate where we ate lunch, explored the vineyard and tasted the wine. In the evening we ate at the hotel followed by a night cap in the Sun Lounge. |
