Monday 29th July
Today we walked along the seafront and had lunch in Barnstaple. We took
a walk along the promenade and had the chance to buy gifts and post
cards and we stopped for ice cream. Later in the evening we listened to
and danced along with the music at the hotel. We also played bingo. |
Tuesday 30th July
We visited Barnstaple Ten Pin Bowling for a game of ten pin bowls. We
all enjoyed playing and John won overall! Then we went to a lovely
garden Centre for lunch and a bit of a look around. The food was very

for yourself. |

Wednesday 31st July
We had lovely weather today and we briefly visited the harbour to buy
tickets for a boat trip for tomorrow. We then went to a wildlife and
dinosaur Park where we saw lots of animals and a sea lion show. There
was also a lovely gift shop for us to buy souvenirs from towards the end
of the day. Later Carol, Cynthia and Alison won prizes on the raffle. |
Thursday 1st August
We were lucky again with the weather, another lovely day. We visited the
harbour and enjoyed a walk along the shops and found a nice cafe for
lunch. Afterwards we took our boat trip around the coast line and
were very lucky to see some seals swimming! Later in the evening we
played bingo and listened to the live entertainment. |

Friday 2nd August
Today we visited Lynmouth and Lynton Cliff Railway in Exmoor. We rode on
the railway which is the highest and steepest water powered railway in
the world, with a scenic cliff top terrace and cafe. We had lunch in the
cafe and some had cream teas. Later we wandered around Lynmouth looking
at the shops and the village. The evening entertainment was good and
some got up to have a dance. |
Saturday 3rd August
We visited the Woody Bay Railway Station and rode on a steam train. The
station is lovingly looked after and boasts a lovely cafe which we
stopped at for lunch. This afternoon we drove on to Lynton, taking in
the sights and stopping for a look around. We stopped again for a drink
and a bite to eat, most where happy to opt for a cream tea. |
