Great Yarmouth August 2014
By The Group

Great Yarmouth 2014After a long journey we arrived at the hotel. It looked very nice and was right,on the sea front. We had a welcome pot of tea and then went to our rooms and unpacked with the help of the staff if needed. Having had a quick wash and brush up we went down for dinner.

We had an exciting time while we had dinner as a very large group of truckers had brought a party of children to the sea and they had a big parade and went right past the hotel. There were crowds of people watching and we sat at our dinner tables to watch.

After dinner we had a look at all the leaflets and made a list of where we wanted to go.

Monday
We had a lovely breakfast before setting out for a walk on the pier. We went along the front and then headed back to the hotel and our mini bus and we set out for a trip to see the broads. We went to the beach so we could see the run of wind mills in the sea, then we then went on to Caister to look at the castle.

Great Yarmouth 2014We had our packed lunch down by the beach and some of us went for a walk on the beach. We went to take a look at Potter Heigham and had a look round the Museum of the Broads. There were lots of boats and scenes to explain the history of the Broads.

After a nice cup of tea we headed back to the hotel. Following dinner we had a drink in the bar and some people played games

Tuesday
We went to see the Thursford Collection and saw the old organs, listened to the Wurlitzer and had rides on the old carousel. It was a magical place to visit.

In the evening we had a singer at the hotel and we had great fun . We were singing and dancing all evening. It was great.

Great Yarmouth 2014Wednesday
Today we went to the market and shopping arcade. It was a lovely day so we then went to the beach. We found a little cafe right on the sand so we had lunch there. Then some of us went for a walk on the beach and down to the water.

In the evening those who wanted to joined another coach party and went to the theatre. It was the funniest show with lots of great singing too. We had a brilliant time. Those who chose to stay behind were treated to a fireworks show right opposite the hotel.

Thursday
Today we went to Horning where we had a drink in the Swan prior to boarding the paddle steamer for an hour and a half of peace and tranquillity as we went along the broads. In the evening we had a man with a guitar singing and playing for us. We had a brilliant evening.

Friday
Today we went to the Time and Tide Museum, one of the best in the area. It was another lovely day so then we went to the beach cafe for lunch again and spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach.

Last evening in the bar, time to say goodbye to our new friends and hope we meet again on an other holiday.
