Friday 29th June
Today we drove to the airport to pick up the people who were joining us
for the next week. On the way we stopped at a Pottery shop to have a
look around. Once back at the Gite and the new comers had settled in we
all had a lovely meal and a Pina Colada for our drink! Yum yum. We are
again staying in a beautiful Gite in France with vast grounds in the
countryside of Limoges. |

Saturday 30th June
We had a quiet morning exploring the garden with its beautiful flowers
and stone circle. Then a shopping trip to Ballac for craft supplies.
Later in the afternoon we visited the lake and there was a chance to
have a paddle or a swim and to relax on the beach. Some of the group
enjoyed an ice cream. In the evening we had dinner at the Gite followed
by games. |
Sunday 1st July
Today Wendy conducted a service with hymns and prayers, in the stone
circle. The circle is within the grounds of the Gite. We then went for a
meal at St Pardoux, before leaving we looked at the medieval paintings
on the walls of the church. We travelled to the lake but decided not to
stay as it was a little busy. Instead we opted to go back to the Gite
and do some crafting. We had a light supper and then played our games. |

Monday 2nd July
We went to the Bhuddist Temple and gardens today. It was beautiful and
the people were very kind, they gave us water and cakes. Some of us
bought lots of gifts. We had lunch in Georges at Rancon. In the evening
we had a BBQ at the Gite. Catherine and Jim joined us and to finish the
day we played our games in the garden. We have been playing games such
as boules and croquet along with quizzes. |
Tuesday 3rd July
Today we visited Montrol-Senard the French village that has become a
museum and evokes images of a by gone era from the early 20th Century.
We stopped at a cafe and also sat inside The Old School House. Wendy was
pretending to be the teacher and making us learn French ! (and she did
tell Jane off, although it was all in fun). Later, back at the Gite, we
did arts and crafts followed by dinner. We then presented Jim and
Catherine with a home made gift to thank them for our stay. |

Wednesday 4th July
We packed today ready for our return journey tomorrow and then visited
Bellac to refuel and for a shop. In the evening we went for a very
delicious meal at Montrol-Senard. We had an award ceremony from all our
games in the week. Helen won the 1st prize! We then said our goodbyes to
Jim and his dogs. |
Thursday 5th July
We had a very early morning start at 3:00am! We travelled to the ferry
but we were stopping at the Bayeux Tapestry museum along the way for a
visit. The Bayeux tapestry is an embroidered cloth that is 70 meters
long, depicting the Norman Conquest and was made in the 11th Century.
Once our visit was over we carried on to the Ferry and then back home to
England. |
