We met up at the airport all excited for our flight to Florida. We watched Movies on the plane and the time soon flew by! We had a short stop over in Toronto, Canada where we had some lunch. Boarded our next flight for our short trip to Florida. After landing in Orlando we picked up our hire car and drove to our villa. It was amazing but we were happy just to fall into our beds after the long day.
Monday 16th October
Thank goodness Jez and Kirstine went out to the supermarket last night. We had breakfast at the villa when we woke up and had a lazy morning recovering from our long journey yesterday. Some of us went to the supermarket to get some groceries and have a look about. Afterwards Michael and Adrian went in our pool, some people played table tennis and pool or just relaxed in their rooms. After dinner of Spaghetti and meatballs we walked to the club house to have a look about and a drink. It has a great pool with slides and a lazy river.
Tuesday 17th October
This morning we drove to have a look around some gift shops. We played pool and table tennis, used the pool and Jacuzzi. After dinner we went to the club house for a drink in the bar.
Wednesday 18th October
This morning we set off after breakfast to go to Universal Studios Island of Adventures. Our first ride was the massive Hulk rollercoaster.. it was amazing.. for those that were brave enough to go on. We went on the Spiderman ride next followed by the rapids, log flume where we got absolutely soaking wet, but we loved it. Skull Island was next which was amazing. If we weren’t wet enough we went on the river adventure. Then on to Hogsmeade and the Harry Potter rides were shattered but not before Miriam and Kirstine went on the train for the Cat in the Hat with a last ride for Michael and Jez! What a fabulous day.
Thursday 19th October
This morning we had a lazy morning then some of us wanted to go out to the shops! After lunch we swam in the pool and sunbathed. In the evening after Pizza we went down to the club house for drinks.
Friday 20th October
Today we went to Disneys Animal Kingdom. It was amazing, we enjoyed the lion King show first which was fantastic. Then we went on the safari to see all the animals. Some of us went on the jassoric park ride which was great fun as we got soaking wet. We enjoyed walking round looking at all the animals especially the gorillas. Some of us then went to Pandora (from Avatar) and rode the Na’vi river journey whilst others of us went on Everest. We laughed during it’s a bug’s life and finished the day watching the River of light show which was fantastic.
Saturday 21st October
Today we went to Kenney Space Centre. We had a great and interesting day. First we took a bus tour round to see the launch points and the massive assembly building, which is really enormous! Then we had a look around Atlantis seeing all the space suits and different collections and tools. We touched a piece of the moon and rode the shuttle experience which was a simulator to see what it would be like to take off on a rocket... very bumpy! It was a really good day enjoyed by everyone.
Sunday 22nd October
Today we went to Epcot. There was an international food and wine festival there with lots of interesting foods. Some of us chose to go on the rides all agreed the soaring ride the best whilst others walked around the world checking out all the different foods. We enjoyed the history of America show and dancing to the live band. The firework show at the end of the evening was amazing.. yet again.
Monday 23rd October
Today we had a lazy morning relaxing at the villa after our very busy few days. We lazed around the pool and watched movies on TV. Some of us went to the shops to get a few bits but most of us wanted to relax and not do much. Wendy cooked us a lovely roast dinner with an American twist.
Tuesday 24th October
Today we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios, we arrived to see the 'March of the First Order' (star wars) then sang at the top of our voices to A Frozen sign along, loved the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular then enjoyed a charture lunch at Hollywood and Vine where we met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Dasiy and goofy. What a fabulous dinner we were so fully afterwards! However we still enjoyed Muppet Vision, Star Tours and those that were brave enough to go on the Tower of Terror. To finish our magical day we watched the show Fantasmic which was an amazing conclusion.
Wednesday 25th October
Today we went to Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The high light was definately the parade for everyone. Some of us enjoyed riding Big Thunder Mountain, Dumbo the flying Elephant, it’s a small world, Peter Pan to name a few while others enjoyed the jungle cruise, under the sea, the railroad, The Enchanted Tiki room and looking round the shops. Gaye and Sue loved trying Churros and dipping it in Chocolate. To complete our day we watched once upon a time fireworks display. It was a magical day
Thursday 26th October
Today we had a lazy morning flowed by a trip to universal Studios. Michael, Miriam, Lionel and Jex all went on the big roller coaster. Everyone loved the E.T. ride and found the simpson ride very bumpy! We all loved looking round Diaon ally and all the Harry Potter shops as we enjoyed icecreams. To finish the day Michael, Jez and Lionel all enjoyed the Gringotts ride!
Today we went to Wild Florida. It was a great end to our holiday. We enjoyed looking at all the different animals and having our photo taken with an alligator (ok it was only a baby one!) We then had an air boat ride which was amazing. We looked for alligators and other wildlife. On our way home we stopped to get some last minute gifts and souvenirs while getting drinks and donuts from dunking donuts Yum!
This morning we packed our cases as unfortunately today was the day to go home. However, we did celebrate Lionel's birthday with a fab cake, gifts and cards before we set off to the airport.
We arrived home early in the morning and all said our goodbyes as we made our separate ways home. We have all had a fabulous holiday and can’t wait to go back
