Faith week
Holiday dates: 11th to 20th April 2017
 
Holidaying are: Pat, Pauline, Julie, Sheila, Jenny & Cynthia, with Wendy, Geraint, Tegan & Heather.
 
Tuesday 11th April

Pat, Sheila, Julie and Cynthia arrived for the start of their holiday. Everyone enjoyed a welcome meal.
 
Craft Wednesday 12th April

We started the day with breakfast in the Farm House.Our morning activity involved Dyeing eggs in readyness for our craft activities. We stopped for lunch consisting of sandwiches. In the afternoon we were able to use our left over dye to paint kitchen towels and latex gloves. Later we ate our evening meal in the hotel.
Thursday 13th April

Breakfast in the hotel followed by a morning of crafting and today we made Easter Cards. After lunch we decided to go shopping in the near-by town. Jezz, Emma and George came to visit us and Jenny also arrived. It was Maundy Thursday and we enjoyed a supper at the Farm House.

Open air Friday 14th April

Good Friday. We went to an Easter message in the open air, in the Town Centre at the Baptist Church and then had hotcross buns. In the afternoon we made tray bakes to sell on the Monday. Pat, Jenny, Pauline and Cynthia came to Mallards Pike and went gnome hunting and enjoyed feeding the ducks.
Saturday 15th April

This morning our craft activity was making Easter Bonnnets, it was fun decorating them. After lunch we drove to Puzzlewood where we enjoyed a walk and then took a break for refreshments.In the evening after our meal we played "name that tune". Everyone was tired after the activities of the day.

Church service Sunday 16th April

Easter Sunday. This morning everyone was given an Easter egg! We travelled to the church for the Easter service. After the service we had a welcome sunday lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon we went to Taurus crafts.
Monday 17th April

We listened to a talk by Jezz about the fruits of the spirit.We went to town to visit the church on the street and the transport carnival. We then had lunch in the baptist church and then visited the train exhibition.

Vicar Tuesday 18th April

This morning Sarah, the local vicar, joined us and took morning prayer and gave us a talk. We then had an Easter egg hunt in the garden. In the afternoon we visited Coleford for afternoon tea in a new tea room called Petit Hibou (meaning little Owl), which was lovely. After lots of chatter and cake we took a ride back to the Farm House. Mark and Sarah joined us for dinner. In the evening we enjoyed a musical time with Mark producing every song we requested and we all sang along with the guitar.
Wednesday 19th April

After breakfast in the hotel we went back to the Farm House and had morning prayer along with a talk. We then travelled to Monmouth for some shopping. We stopped at The White Horse, then back to the Farm House. We were lead in meditation using stones and water and saw how water is important for life. Then after dinner we had another sing song by request and Jenny also brought her guinea pigs along for us to cuddle.

Boat trip Thursday 20th April

We ate breakfast in the hotel. Then Jane arrived and we went by minibus to Symonds Yat. We had a 45 minute boat ride and tea on board, enjoying beautiful sceanery. After our boat trip we had lunch in a pub before going back to the Farm House for refreshments.
