Friday 19th April
Some of us met up in Cirencester ready for our drive to North Wales,
stopping for lunch along the way. At our hotel we met Matthew, Jo and
Stephen. The hotel was a lovely converted Castle. After a delicious meal
we had some drinks in the bar while Matthew enjoyed a dance. Some of us
were tired from travelling but Jo and Matthew had lots of energy to
spend dancing in the evening. |

Saturday 20th April
This morning, after breakfast we joined in the Shuttleboard Tournament.
The teams were Yellow verses Black and the Yellow team won. Matthew got
the highest score of the Tournament! We then took part in a quiz and got
a respectable 13 out of 20 for the answers. It was then time for the
Curling Competition. After lunch Jo, Laura and Pat had a look around the
maze and gardens whilst Matthew joined the salsa workshop. In the
evening we enjoyed the Disco, the theme was the 1970's and there was a
Tom Jones tribute band. |
Sunday 21st April
After breakfast we visited The Welsh Mountain Zoo, in Colwyn Bay. We saw
lots of animals such as camels, meerkats, sea lions, tigers, bears and
tiny monkeys. The parrots made a lot of noise! We enjoyed watching the
penguins and sea lions. It was a lovely hot sunny day so we all enjoyed
an ice-cream before heading back to the hotel for an evening of dancing
to "Majesty" a Queen tribute band. |
|
|
Monday 22nd April
Today we headed to Llandudno to visit The Great Orme Tramway. The views
from the top were lovely, although today was a little windy. In the
evening everyone enjoyed the 80's theme disco with a live band singing
songs from artists such as 'Duran Duran', Rick Astley and 'Spandau
Ballet'. |
Tuesday 23rd April
This morning Jo went on the Grounds and Estate Tour whilst the others
had a try at the curling activity again. We are all getting quite good!
Everyone enjoyed the shuttleboard and Matthew joined the table tennis
competition. In the evening some of the group enjoyed The 'Pop, Swing
and Soul' classics sung by Simon. In the lower hall The Chapman Twins
sung Motown and Soul style songs. |

Wednesday 24th April
This morning Kirstine and Jo got up very early to go on a 'Deer at Dawn'
walk. Unfortunately they didn't see any deer but they still enjoyed the
experience. We had a go at a game of 'Smite' which was great fun and a
game of target with the red team winning. We then came 2nd in the Lyrics
competition. Then we enjoyed the curling competition and Darren opted
for a massage at the hotel. In the evening some of the group watched a
football match between Manchester United and Manchester City. The rest
of the group watched the entertainment which was a magic act and
comedian called Donimo. |
Thursday 25th April
This morning Pat and Darren went rifle shooting with
Matthew and Jo opting for archery. After lunch Jo also tried the rifle
shooting. Kirstine and Pat went swimming and tried out the jacuzzi and
steam room. In the evening we enjoyed the variety night with a comedian,
Diego Circus along with an 'Abba' tribute by the entertainment team.
Followed by a chance to boogie on the dance floor! It
was a great way to finish off the holiday. |
