Sunday 24th April We set off early to rendezvous with the other holidaymakers before making our way to the Eurotunnel port. We arrived in good time as there was no traffic en route. We had time for a drink at the terminal and before long, we were ready to embark on our shuttle taking us underthe English Channel. We decided to have our oicnic lunch whilst travelling in the tunnel. The crossing was very quick and we were soon in France. The journey didn't seem to take as long as we expected and we arrived at out hotel, Davy Crockett's Ranch. We had two cabins . After a fabulous buffet dinner at the tavern we retired to unpack and rest after our long journey. Monday 25th April We awoke excited for our first day in the park. After breakfast, we visited Magic Kingdom and watched the Forest of Enchantment – it was brilliant! We then went on s steam train around the theme park. After lunch, we went on Pirates of the Caribbean and watched the parade. Cathy and Katy both liked Mickey best of all and Tegan liked Tigger. After the parade, we went on It’s a Small World, which was our favourite ride. We watched Its Spring Time which was hugely enjoyable. We then went on the Buzz Lightyear ride. After all the day’s activities, we opted for dinner at the Plaza Gardens and watched a firework display which went on late into the evening. Tuesday 26th April Today, we had a city tour arranged to visit the capital Paris. We met the coach at the Hotel New York. We first saw Notre Dame, then we headed onto La Concierge (the mediaeval prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution). We travelled down the Rue Bonaparte and viewed the oldest church in Paris dating back to c10th. We drove past the Fine Arts School which was a former nunnery. From here we travelled along the Place de la Concorde and down the Champs Elyse towards the Arc de Triomphe, where we stopped to take photographs. We soon arrived at the Eiffel Tower, and we stopped here to have our picnic lunch. After we had eaten, we decided to ascend the Tower and experienced how cold it was at the top! After we had descended the Tower, we went on a boat trip along the River Seine. In all, it was lovely day fitting in all the sightseeing and landmarks, and we were tired when we arrived back at the park. Wednesday 27th April This morning, as we were all tired from our previous day of sightseeing, we elected for a lie in! We had a late breakfast then visited Disney Village for a spot of shopping, before heading for a late lunch at Café Mickey where we met Mickey, Goofy, Tigger and the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. We ate a delicious lunch and made some great new friends! After lunch, we went on a car ride and then we watched a Star Tours show; Jackolyn liked this best. Jackolyn and Kirstine then went on the Space Mountain roller coaster, with Jackolyn proclaiming never ever to go on the ride again! In the evening, we had a lovely dinner at Blue Lagoon and people watched. Thursday 28th April Today, we went to Disney Hollywood Studios. We started off our day watching a live show which was very interesting. After this, we went on another tour and experienced an earthquake and London destroyed by a dragon and fortunately, we did not meet the dragon! After lunch, we went on the Ratoelle ride and had to wear 3d glasses to gain maximum effect. This was Katy and Robin’s favourite! To end our fabulous holiday, we watched a stunt show featuring amazing bike and car stunts, including an appearance of Lightening McQueen from Cars. Friday 29th April An early start for our homeward journey back to England. We all had a brilliant holiday and none of us wanted to leave France! |
