We all arrived seperately at The Premier Inn Cleethorpes in good time. Once we had finished our unpacking we all met up and chatted about the things we would like to do on the holiday. Later we had dinner at The Brewers Fayre, next door, which was very enjoyable.
Today was the main day of the Armed Forces Weekend! We saw parades and listened to Military Music. There were lots of stalls and demonstrations to see. One demonstration was of a military drill. We were able to get close to some military vehicles and then watched an air display. It was a very full day and ended with dinner at The Brewers Fayre.
We started the day with a good breakfast and then went to a church service. For lunch we had burgers on the sea front as we watched a display by a spitfire. Some of us went for a look around the stalls. It was definately the kind of day to be on the sea front watching displays and enjoying the weather. Later we had dinner in a Carvery, which we found very filling.
Today we went to Skegness. The men decided to go shopping while Margaret went for a horse and carriage ride. We had lunch by the boating lake and enjoyed our time in the "Mecca of Tourism". This evening we all had a curry which everyone agreed was lovely.
Our trip today was to Grimsby, to the fishing Heritage Centre.Some of us went for a clamber over a real trawler which was fascinating. We all looked around the museum which made us appreciate the work that goes into our fish and chips ! Tonight we ventured out to an all you can eat oriental buffet restaurant.
After our usual breakfast today we visited the Little Steam Train in Cleethorpes. While there we had fish and chips in what is labelled 'The biggest fish and chip restaurant' in the UK ! We had an enjoyable look around the seaside shops. We then took the steam train back to the hotel. For our evening meal we had another curry.
Last day and time to pack all our things and travel home.
