Monday

The day started a little bit overcast so we decided to go for a visit to The Oceanarium. Some of us walked down through the park and gardens which was very nice. The Oceanarium was very interesting and we enjoyed the penguins in particular and really enjoyed watching a large tank full of sharks being cleaned. We then took the land train to Boscombe where we had lunch and did some shopping.

Open top bus Tuesday

Today, despite the rainy start was a nice day. After breakfast we took an open top bus to Swanage. The bus took us through Sandbanks, where all the rich and luxurious homes are, along the coast of Bournemouth and Swanage to the bus station by the railway. We then had lunch at a cafe at the station, it was an old carriage turned into a cafe. After lunch we walked down to the beach front and looked in some of the shops and had ice cream. Then we took an open top bus to Bournemouth. In the evening we had entertainment involving a rock n roll singer and then bingo. Rebecca won the Bingo! The dance floor was full as people danced the night away.
Wednesday

The weather was a little rainy today. After breakfast we went to Poole where we enjoyed a spot of shopping, followed by a cake and a drink at Poole Pottery Cafe. We then walked along the Quay and had lunch in a cafe where we were able to look out over the views of the harbour and see the expensive boats and yachts. When we got back Richard went swimming with Tara and the others had a rest before dinner. After dinner we played bingo again but no winners this time. The entertainment tonight was a keyboard player who played some old classic tunes.

Happy Birthday Thursday

Today the sun was shinning all day ! So, after breakfast we enjoyed relaxing in the sun playing cards and sunbathing. We also ate our lunch in the sun. After lunch some of us went swimming whilst others walked through the gardens down to the sea front, where we had an ice cream and a drink in a cafe. In the evening it was celebration time as it was Nicole's birthday. We sang 'Happy birthday' to her and had a lovely chocolate cake after dinner. The evening entertainment was a keyboard and guitar player.
Friday

Today started out nice but the forecast was for rain. With this in mind we decided to go shopping today. Before we went some of us wrote post cards home, while some played cards again. We then went to Boscombe where we enjoyed going around the Shopping Centre. Lunch was at the cafe on the sea front. After lunch we continued with our shopping on the shop at the pier, it was a good chance to buy souvenirs. We then headed back to the hotel and sorted out our packing in preparation for going home.
